J.Crew Brings the Mix and Match for Fall 2012

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Jenna Lyons is still heavily inspiring the J Crew look, if the latest collection's classically coiffed nerd meets boheme meets ski bunny aesthetic is any indication. There are polka dots mixed with plaids mixed with other plaids. There are turtle necks under sweaters, turtlenecks under boatnecks, and turtlenecks flying solo. There are elbow length gloves. If any (all) of that excites you, the collection is also now available for pre-order online. Happy Friday.
