Hearst is having a good month. Riding the coat tales of Elle's surprise August cover score (see: right), the media company is also looking forward to breaking a few internal records this September: Both Elle and Marie Claire will be the largest ever issues for the company with 400 ad pages and 217 ad pages, respectively.
Things are not looking as good at Condé Nast, however. The company just cut discretionary spending by ten percent, leading the New York Post to stir up the rumor that there's a decline in ad sales for the publisher's September issues.
The official numbers will not be released until midweek, so until then, monger on, and swing by our Campaign Trail pinboard to see the ads before they debut in print.
