True Blood's Vampire Pam Likes Her Cosmetics Cruelty-Free

New, 2 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

To celebrate the launch of the HSN x HBO Forsaken Beauty Collection Inspired by True Blood, the brand held a party in, why not, an old New York bath house. We stalked the steamy baths, passing scary vampires and less scary manicurists in search of the event's guest of honor: actress Kristin Bauer Van Straten—a.k.a. the show's deliciously wicked vampire, Pam De Beaufort.

When we finally found her, Kristin told us that the first thing she asked about the line was, "Is there animal testing—and there's not." So yes, the bloodsucking Pam likes her cosmetics cruelty free.

True Blood inspired perfumes, candles, powder, and vampire-appropriate shades of nail polish and lipstick by Deborah Lippmann will all be available on HSN starting August 9th. We were particularly smitten by a nail lacquer shade called Let It Bleed, as the color is, not surprisingly, quite blood-like.
