John Fairchild, the former editor-in-chief of Women's Wear Daily and the creator of W magazine, is pissed. The backstory is as follows: When he retired in 1997, he continued writing his beloved column for W under the pen name Louise J. Esterhazy for years, but in 2010, new editor Stephano Tonchi abruptly ended it. "No one called me," he says. "They just cut it off. I loved doing it." And now he won't step foot into an anniversary party for either publication. [Vanity Fair]
