Miss America isn't known as the most forward thinking of live televised events, and now the 91-year-old pageant is going even more retro in the swim department. Bathing suit brand Catalina, which sponsored the contest way back in 1921, is again lending its hand. Miss America by Catalina, a "retro-inspired" collection of bandeau tops, triangle bikinis, and one-pieces, will be worn by the contestants in the pageant and available to you at Walmart. But not everything is kicking it old school: Instead of the "beauty" competition, the 53 contestants will wear the new suits (jewel toned and rhinestone embellished, of course) during the "lifestyle and fitness" competition. Progress! [WWD]
