10 Sales That Will Make You Want to Go Back to School

Maybe we're stuck in the past, but August will forever put us in the mood for back-to-school shopping. And this rampant nostalgia (or, for all you lucky college-goers out there, actual, real-life back-to-school fever) isn't lost on the retail world, so be sure to check out special campus-friendly discounts this weekend at Topshop and American Apparel, among eight others we've rounded up for you. Club Monaco: Got some vacation days left? Get to a beach, like, now, and consider outfitting yourself in the laid-back looks that are currently populating Club Monaco's sale section. Yup, up to 60% off means breezy chic comes at equally breezy prices.

American Apparel: Say what you will about American Apparel, the brand knows its market, and that market is cool enough for school. So right now get, 15% off your purchase of $150 with the code BTR1, 20% off of $250 with BTR2, and 25% off of $350 with BTR3. Downside is we might have to go back to math class to figure out the best deal there.

Topshop: The British trend emporium that is Topshop is offering 20% off students' purchases. As if we needed another reason to rue the day we graduated.

Madewell: This is one for the patient Madewell shoppers: If last week's extra 20% off sale items at didn't sway you, perhaps an extra 30% off sale items will? Check it out; There are new items in the bin, too!

Barney's: The sale has reached new heights this week with up to 85% off men's and women's goods. Check out the selection and pray to ye Barney's Warehouse gods for more markdowns.

Old Navy: We got a pleasant surprise while perusing Old Navy's new arrivals. There are plenty of easy-to-wear button downs and breezy tops that make it under the $20 mark with the 25% off sale. And some are even peasant tops that don't even make you look like you fell into a Woodstock '69 time warp, which is impressive. Also, pick up some denim while you're there—it's all discounted.

Kate Spade: Items have been marked up to 50% off, making this an auspicious time to shop some of the classic handbags available. They even scoot under $100 on occasion.
