Michelle Dockery Talks Downton Style and Small Animal Toys

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Downton Abbey's third season premier in January is still a whole fashion week and many holiday party outfits away, so we've been on the hunt for things to fill the void. Enter an interview with Michelle Dockery, aka Lady Mary, by Laura Brown of Harper's Bazaar's "The Look" series. Enjoy their conversation about the changing Downton period style, Dockery's collection of striped shirts, the vintage clutch she "liberated" from her mom's closet, and a very strange infatuation with a Lady Mary "Sylvanian" (small, plastic woodland creature collectables). If none of those are your cup of tea, just watch for the gorg preview of Docker's" Harper's Bazaar photo shoot.
