There Is a Hot Air Balloon in Karl Lagerfeld's Future

This September, Karl Lagerfeld will be appearing in Elle Decor's Shortlist, where tastemakers from various industries name the ten things they can't live without, and we're shocked to find a certain furry friend has not made his list. But Choupette snubs aside, we learned a few things from the piece. First, Karl can write poetry (Of Hilditch & Key shirts and nightshirts he says "Night and day—I would never give them away"). Second and not so shockingly, Lagerfeld watches are on the way.

And finally, his suckerpunch remarks about Pippa's face aren't the only thing full of air. He's decorating the Paris Biennale des Antiquaires and, while plans are still under wraps, he let it slip that a hot air balloon might be involved. All the better to sky-write his apology to Pippa.

Check out the rest of the piece when the magazine hits newsstands next Tuesday, Aug 7.
