It was only a matter of time. In her cover interview for Numero Tokyo's October issue, Alexa Chung confirms that she is, indeed, pursuing her own fashion line. According to Grazia, when asked if she'd consider working on her own collection she said, "Yes, I’m definitely going to do that. I’m looking into it right now."
Is that a lot of pressure, though, what with all the other demands on her time? Street style photos don't take themselves, you know. Apparently not. "I’ve got nothing to lose, it’s a bit of fun. In this current era of celebrity no one believes you actually design the stuff anyway, even though I sketch everything myself," she said. "So if it sucks I can say I had nothing to do with it, and if it’s really good I can say ‘Here are the drawings, it’s all my own work!"
We actually doubt it will suck at all. Fans of Chung's tomboy style will no doubt be hoping to see lots of her collared shirts and quirky dresses, which she's managed to make look fresh and cool and which have become her much-copied signature look. Basically, as long as she doesn't do anything like this ever again, she's got nothing to worry about.
