Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Racked NY has taken to the streets to find out how Barneys Warehouse Sale shoppers feel about the seminal question of the week: To wait in line or to shop online? Surprise: Those queued up outside of Barney's Warehouse were predictably anti-virtual-sale. Like Gerry, for example, who told Racked NY, "I don't think it's fair. Once I come to New York, the sale is available to me back home." Do you have thoughts on online vs. in-store sample sales? Let us hear 'em in the comments. [Racked NY]
