Today in no one saw this coming: Sally Singer will leave her position as editor in chief of T: The New York Times Style Magazine at the end of this week. (For those of you keeping track at home, that is like five days before Fashion Week begins.) By way of confirmation, WWD reprinted a portion of Executive Editor Jill Abramson's memo to staff:
"I'm sorry to announce that Sally Singer will be leaving T magazine and The Times at the end of this month... Sally's contributions are clear to anyone who's read the magazine during her tenure. Gorgeous visuals, interesting stories and enterprising features — both in print and online — have been hallmarks of her stewardship. We wish her every success."
In other words, everyone is being extremely tight-lipped about what's going down. Also no word yet on where Singer, is going or who will be replacing her.
