"Tennis bracelet" sounds kind of like an oxymoron to us—should you really be wearing a string of pricey diamonds while playing a sport? But the accessory's heritage goes back a long ways: This slimline, sparkly bracelet was a favorite style of Grand Slam queen Chris Everett, who famously lost her rocks during the 1987 US Open, forcing the game to be put on hold so she could retrieve her jewels. And that, folks, is how a jewelry trend is born: Whatever name this bracelet had before the "tennis bracelet" incident, well, there's been no looking back. In honor of the US Open's kick-off this week, we've rounded up 12 takes on this classic piece, ranging in price from heirloom to "I'll take two." —Julie Chen
