Tim Gunn is making the book party rounds to promote his latest, Tim Gunn's Fashion Bible, and last night we joined a cocktail party's worth of fans who had each spent $50 at Gilt City to attend a private book party with the author and receive an autographed copy of the tome.
The $50 would have been worth it just to see how dapper Gunn looked in his pin-striped Suit Supply suit, but Gunn upped the value of the ticket price by candidly dishing on the universe's most-hated Project Runway contestant ever, Ven.
If you recall last week's controversial episode, Ven made his plus-sized customer cry. Gunn shared that despite how nasty Ven appeared on our screens, what we saw of him was the good version. "Can I tell you the editing on the show is kind to everyone?" he said. "It was especially kind to him. He was especially atrocious."
Gunn told us other interesting tidbits about Project Runway, as well. We learned that when he was first asked to be involved with the show, his response was, "Are you kidding? Fashion reality? This industry has enough problems as it is." He also shared that he is not involved in the judging, "There is a separation of church and state."
When asked about his least favorite designs in the show's history, Gunn responded, "Probably anything menswear," and then added the spoiler, "We have a menswear challenge this season. Just wait, it will not disappoint you in terms of horrible."
Stay tuned for our show recap.
