Everything's Coming Up Marilyn: Monroe-Inspired Spas, Salons, and Blowouts Are Multiplying

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Marilyn Monroe died fifty years ago this week, which means that she'll be doing even more posthumous product endorsement than usual. Drybar is offering a "Marilyn" blowout all month long, which means they'll give you a '50s pinup-style look. MAC's Marilyn-inspired makeup line will drop later this fall. And now, a Florida-based spa company has announced plans to open Marilyn-themed spas and salons around the country later this year. Meaning now you can get your Marilyn-inspired makeup done in a room plastered with pictures of the actress. (Something tells us Andy Warhol would approve of this level of meta.)
