Fall is the harbinger of many wonderful things: pumpkin spiced lattes for one, collab season for another. For your planning pleasure, we've put together a list of the most exciting cool-weather partnerships debuting over the next three months. From Orla Kiely's sweet pieces for Uniqlo to Nicole Richie's moody boho capsule for Macy's Impulse and Target's collabapalooza with Nieman Marcus and everyone who's anyone at the CFDA, we've got the top ten right here. Get your calendars ready, folks: It's going to be a doozy of a shopping season.
Already in stores: Kirna Zabête for Target
Target's second installment of their "Shops" concept, where local boutiques from around the country are tapped to create exclusive capsules for the discount retailer, launched yesterday. There are five shops involved, but beloved NY boutique Kirna Zabête is the one we care most about. Head to Target's website to shop dresses and blazers for under $50, blouses for under $30, and this amazing faux leather skirt for $39.99.
Already in stores: Agyness Deyn for Dr. Martens
Launched in August, Deyn's Doc Martens collection goes well beyond the realm of shoes: flannel jumpsuits, khaki parkas, and daisy-printed maxi dresses will have you time traveling to the '90s. For the traditionalists out there, however, the shoes on offer are worth your consideration: patent leather combat boots, flatforms, and over-the-knee lace-ups round out the collection.
Already in stores: United Bamboo for Madewell:
United Bamboo's five-piece capsule for Madewell is tiny, but it's definitely the most fun you're going to have with triangles outside of a kindergarten classroom. We're especially loving the silk print blouses for $125, but the crepe dresses ($165 and $178) are also great scores. And for anyone really planning ahead to the doldrums of winter, there's also a parka in there for $350.
Already in stores: Orla Kiely for Uniqlo
The British designer best known for her sweet graphic floral prints just launched her second collab with the fast fashion giant on Fashion's Night Out. "I love working with Uniqlo," she told us. "It's nice that we can bring our pattern to their simple, classic essentials." The prices are nice, too: $12.90 for a scarf, $19.90 for a tee, and $39.90 for a tunic dress.
September 12: Nicole Richie for Macy's Impulse
Nicole Richie's Impulse collection has all the boho themes of her Winter Kate line, but with a moodier, more grown-up feel. Think Stevie Nicks circa the Stand Back album: there are leather skirts, peacock-printed maxi dresses, and even some crushed velvet thrown in for good measure. Prices range from $49 and $149, and you'll be able to shop the whole thing come Wednesday.
September 14: JW Anderson for Topshop
If boho isn't your thing, hold out for this supermarket-inspired collection. Sound random? Well, it is, a little bit. But where else will you be able to shop for a varsity jacket, an intarsia-knit owl sweater, and a rubik's cube all in one place?
October 4: Anna dello Russo for H&M accessories
Whether or not you're a fan of ADR's aesthetic, her jewelry collab for H&M is going to be a whole lot of fun. Mostly because of ads like these. But also because now, you can get your very own flying-tropical-bird-headband-hat-veil for less than you'd pay for dinner and a movie. It's also worth nothing that the collection launches exactly 27 days before Halloween. Just sayin.
November 12: eBay's Holiday Collective
eBay is working with seven very different designers—Fallon, Tibi, Steven Alan, Chris Benz, Ruffian, Jonathan Adler, and Billy Reid—to create a one-of-a-kind gift collection. All 40 items are priced under $100, which is a far cry less than you'd get Tibi's lace-overlay pieces for anyplace else.
November 15: Maison Martin Margiela for H&M
Aside from Target's holiday collective with the CFDA (we'll get to that in just a second), this is the most-anticipated collab launch of the season. MMM is known for being avant-garde to the point of totally weird, which should make for quite an interesting mix with H&M's trendy, wearable aesthetic. So far only one image from the collection has been released—French Vogue shot the parachute sized, asymmetrical red dress for their fall issue. We're taking it as a sign of good (and very billowy) things to come.
December 1: Target-Neiman Marcus-CFDA
The best—or at least the biggest—comes last. To recap: Target and Neiman Marcus are teaming up with no less than 24 CFDA designers on a holiday collaboration capsule that will be available at both stores. Prices will range from $7.99 to $499.99, with most items going for less than $60, and the goods on offer are going to be gift-focused and fall into the categories of "apparel, home décor, pet products, sporting goods, and more." Karlie Kloss is going to be the face of the campaign, and the whole crazy thing is going to go down right after Black Friday. Head here to see the complete list of participating designers and our predictions for who's doing what.
