Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Thakoon's Spring 2013 collection is mindbogglingly pretty. Like so pretty we wanted to look away but all eyes were mesmerized by the delicate bird details over organza and lace. We could call it bewitching but we might as well use the man's own words, "whimsy," "magical," and "otherworldly."

He layered gauzy, sheer shirts with panels of patterned fabric over crisp white collared shirts, acknowledging the see-through top trend without falling prey to it. And then there were the cages. Satiny dresses bedecked in the flower and bird motif were encased in golden cages for that extra oomph of symbolic significance. We'd love to see these pieces on grow-up child stars for one of those not-so-subtle walking metaphor looks. Like the ever ethereal Dakota Fanning. Or Justin Beiber. Head to Style.com to see the full botanical garden.
