Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Christopher Kane told Vogue UK, "I love that book by Mary Shelley [...] So it was the nuts and bolts of Frankenstein." That translated literally into his Spring 2013 collection through a purple Frankenstein t-shirt (See: Staring directly at you above) and actual nuts and bolts instead of standard fastenings on dresses. All that hardware was tempered with more than a hefty dose of bows in pale pinks, ivories, yellows, and powder blues. Between the monster references and the little-lady details, the collection gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "pretty scary." Check it out after the jump.
