Breaking: Gilt Shutters Full-Price Menswear Site Park & Bond

New, 2 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Gilt is eliminating the company's full-priced men's apparel site, Park & Bond, and is cutting back on Gilt Taste, which sells high-end food and wine, reports All Things D.

Gilt President Andy Page tells the publication that though there continues to be a need for a higher-end men's apparel site in addition to discount site GiltMan, "Customers felt that by having two separate sites to purchase from, it was confusing," he said. "We are trying to streamline our offerings overall."

Page also said that Taste will continue to exist on the Gilt website, but that the focus will change to wine, champagne, and holidays—in other words, gifting. Ruth Reichl, the former editor of Gourmet magazine, will continue to be a consultant.
