Giorgio Amarni is usually pretty candid in interviews, so when chatting with Vogue UK, of course he's going to call it like he sees it—it being how really, really good looking he used to be:
Up until I was about 30 to 32-years-old, I used to potter around doing a small job at a department store [...] And I didn't have to work very hard because, well, I was quite good looking. The female managers in the shop used to favour me, making things really easy for me.It's hard to imagine the designer "pottering around" at all, what with the empire he eventually built and seriously intense vitamin/work-out regime he's been known to stick to. But if that's all true, good looks in youth are just another thing he has in common with Richard Gere.
