Hiring Bee Shaffer (a.k.a. Anna Wintour's daughter) is turning out to be a wise move on the part of Ryan Murphy's production company. Murphy currently has a six-page profile in the October issue of Vogue, promoting the launch of his latest TV project, The New Normal. He also scored a Vogue tie-in on his other pet TV project, Glee, where Sarah Jessica Parker will guest star as the editor of Vogue.com this month.
And bringing it all full circle, Vogue.com now has an exclusive clip from the episode, which will air on Thursday night. Though Wintour claims in her letter from the editor that "she can't vouch for the veracity of the televised depiction of life in [the Vogue] office," the costuming, at least, is aiming for realistic. Wintour says SJP asked for help styling her character, who ended up in looks by by Prabal Gurung, Altuzarra, Belstaff, and Fendi. "It's not like Carrie Bradshaw," SJP told Vogue. "It's fashion, but it's not crazy and eccentric. We're doing very strong, simple shifts. It's sexy, hard, and facilitative." Head to Vogue to discover what facilitative dressing looks like.
