Erin Fetherston is calling her spring 2013 collection "Sealed with a Kiss," and, true to the name, there was more kissing going on at her presentation yesterday than we've ever previously witnessed at a fashion show. In addition to an unprecedented number canoodling couples at her dreamy rooftop presentation/cocktail party yesterday, there was a professional "lipstick reader" on hand to tell fortunes based on guests' lipstick kisses—a first in our reporting career.
With all that smooching going on, it makes sense that the collection found its starting point in one of the world's most famous pairs of lips: Brigitte Bardot's. "I always loved her," Erin told us, "and I found a picture of her in her backyard outside Saint Tropez in this yellow feathered outfit. She kind of looks nude, and she's reclining in a wicker chair, and there was something so cool about it. I liked it because it was this frothy texture, but she felt like she really had an edge to her, and that was the spirit that I really wanted to capture this season. It's about femininity with an edge." Think lots of short dresses in pinks and corals, sequins, and a couple of cheeky animal prints. Take a peek at the gallery after the jump.
