Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The Spring 2013 campaign from Bottega Veneta harkens back to old Hollywood, even though Peter Lindbergh lensed the pictures in today's Universal Studios in Los Angeles. Nothing makes something look older like a smoky set, an old car, and a dude in a white double-breasted zuit suit. The '40s silhouettes themselves, modeled by Freja Beha Erichsen, are updated with messy hair and modern accessories. And that's how elegant and romantic is done.
