Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The wedding-hungry among us will be happy to note that TLC, the favorite cable channel for makeovers (among other topics, like hoarding. And cake.) is turning once again to bridal. Something Borrowed, Something New will debut February 8 and features brides who have to choose between a new wedding dress or reworked family heirloom gown. This show has serious guilty-pleasure promise: make-overs (of brides and dresses), shopping, and plenty of family drama. Cue the ice cream. [WWD]
