It's been quite the year for Nicolas Ghesquière. Last November, he unexpectedly dropped the reins at Balenciaga, fueling one of the greatest rumor mills that we've seen in awhile. After two months of silence, he sent out one epic tweet involving a Stormtrooper. A couple months later, he told the debut issue of System magazine that "he was being sucked dry" at Balenciaga, which did not go over too well with his old employers.
Now, it looks like he's ready to get back in the saddle again. Just five days before his court hearing over the $9.2 million that Balenciaga is seeking in damages for that System interview, it's been announced that he will be officially stepping into Marc Jacobs' shoes as the new creative director for Louis Vuitton. Needless to say, we can't wait to see what happens next.
UPDATE: LVMH is denying the news, issuing this statement: "Nothing has been decided."
