Swap Your Elastics for This Handmade French Hair Clip

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Today's pick comes from Racked Philly editor Julie Davis.

Large French Claw Clip, $20 at J.Crew

Because my hair spends most of its time pulled back in a ponytail, black hair elastics are pretty much my go-to. Recently, I decided to shake up my routine a bit and pick up a French Hair Clip from J.Crew. Tortoiseshell hair accessories have been a J.Crew staple for as long as I can remember, so I figured the clip was worth shelling out $20 for.

The clip is pretty to look at (it's made by hand in France, after all), and it's easy to put in, but more importantly, it keeps my hair in place. It's the epitome of effortless chic that J.Crew does so well.
