Because of the void of options available to them, the AP reports that "the amount spent on women's plus-size clothing annually has only risen by one percentage point to 9 percent since 2011." The news outlet dives into the plus-size market, finding that though women weigh an average of 25 pounds more than they did in 1960, and the leagues of plus-size shoppers are only growing, fashion seems almost completely uninterested in touching the category.
