Look, the first takeaway from Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" video is usually, "whoa, Pilates really works" or "please put something between you and that dirty ball and chain" or, simply, "naked!" But we couldn't help but notice—thanks to some stunning close-up shots—how good her makeup looked. Come tears, come concrete dust and come lots of rolling around in rubble, it was still perfection.
Racked tapped ace makeup artist Annamarie Tendler to recreate the look on our patient model Keely. It takes just a few steps and a handful of basic products: foundation, a highlighter like YSL's Touche Éclat, a matte brown powder for contouring, an eyebrow pencil like Benefit's Instant Brow, eyeshadow, eyeliner, lip pencil and an orangey-red lipstick such as Nars in Heat Wave. Voila! Watch our instructional, above, for step-by-step advice.
