Target, Best Buy To Go Head-to-Head on Gray Thursday

Target has just released a teaser of its Black Friday ad, which is heavy on the electronics and notes that the chain will open at 8pm on Gray Thursday along with JCPenney, Macy's and Kohl's. Deals include Beats by Dre headphones for $119 ($60 off), an iPad Air for $479 (which will include a $100 Target giftcard, which essentially cuts the price to $379), the iPhone 5S for $179.99 (with a two-year contract, also comes with a $30 Target giftcard) and many more electronics including flat-screen TVs, cameras and gaming systems. Target's also slashing prices on toys, home items, clothes and holiday decor, and will offer pre-Gray Thursday "daily doorbusters" from November 24 through the 27. The full promo is right here.

Best Buy, meanwhile, is going to bat with Target and the rest of them by opening its doors a full two hours earlier on Gray Thursday at 6pm. "Last year, millions of people made it clear that they wanted to shop on Thanksgiving evening," said a spokesperson about the decision. Retail analysts quoted by the Star Tribune predict that in a few years, Thanksgiving will be "just another shopping day."
