You can stop feeling so charitable about donating your clothes: Business of Fashion has an eye-opening op-ed on the hidden industry of second-hand reselling in regions like sub-Saharan Africa, which receives about a third of all donated clothing, and the effects this trade has on the region. Items, typically donated for free, are bundled up and sold for profit—an industry that is worth a reported $1.9 billion.
