Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Nordstrom acquired flash-sale site HauteLook more than two years ago during the boom of members-only sale sites. It hasn't changed all too much under their watch, save from a leadership shakeup last month—that is, until today, when Nordstrom announced that Nordstrom Rack offerings will now be available on the same platform.
Click to HauteLook and you'll see Nordstrom Rack sitting at the top right of the site. The Rack selection spans women's, men's, children's, jewelry, shoes, bags and maternity and features brands like Pour La Victoire, Antik Batik, Beyond Yoga, Calypso, Elizabeth and James, Derek Lam, Joie, LnA, Rebecca Minkoff and Yigal Azrouël. In a leg up on physical Rack locations, you can easily sort each section by price, color or designer—and you won't be tempted to linger for hours in the jumbled housewares section. Unlike HauteLook's sale events, which are limited in time, the Rack portion of the site will be open and shoppable 24/7.
Is the next step completely converting HauteLook to a Nordstrom Rack e-shop? It wouldn't be a bad idea.
