Aniston's long-time stylist and friend Chris McMillan (who, fun fact, was also behind the Miley cut) blogged exclusively for Allure on the subject of Jen's new look. It came, he says, when she was feeling a little loose. She got a new piercing, pictured above, with makeup artist Gucci Westman, who had just undergone a crop of her own. "It was a fun, exciting kind of day," he writes. "And the idea of short hair was in the air." And once you catch short hair, you can't shake it.
The cut was a serious process. Details McMillan: "It took a few hours to get it right. I used every tool I had—scissors, razor, thinning shears, broken glass (kidding). But I wanted it to look chewed off and lived in. We both love how model Daria Werbowy is wearing her hair now and the idea was that Jen won't have to blow it out and style it." Aniston is, per his words, "really happy" with the results.
