Behold: Rich Kids of Instagram, the Book

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

E! has already threatened to debut a Rich Kids of Instagram reality show, but now there's a definite something we can count on in case that doesn't work out: Rich Kids of Instagram, a novel by Maya Sloan.

The book's blurb describes it as a "dishy and hilarious tale about the intersecting lives of the world's most extravagant, unapologetically uber-rich teenagers." BUT THAT'S NOT ALL. Expect drama too:

The "Rich Kids of Instagram" are not your typical well-to-do brats. These "kids" drive Ferraris, fly to their weekend getaways in private jets, and post self-indulgent photos of themselves online as frequently—and as wantonly—as they blow wads of cash. Not to mention that they're more involved in sex, drugs, and power plays than most people twice their age.
It won't be published until summer 2013, but you can pre-order now on for $18.50. According to the site, "It's the wealthy way."
