Last night, Bravo viewers were treated to the series premiere of Courtney Loves Dallas, a new reality TV show and by our count, the first one ever to feature style blogger. The show's star is Courtney Kerr, a 30-year-old Texan who traded her regular job for outfit blogging. Kerr's site, named What Courtney Wore, has been down since last night (maybe it couldn't withstand all the new fans?), but her Tumblr is up and running right here.
Courtney Loves Dallas is like a romp through the Forever 21 fitting rooms of two to three seasons ago. All the fleeting trends are there, including faux-fur vests, wedge sneakers, statement necklaces, PVC leggings, cutout and bejeweled sweatshirts, T-shirts with sayings on them, arm parties, printed jeans. The colorful, heavily-layered outfits are complimented by perfectly wavy blowouts, plenty of self tanner and bronzer, ultra-white bleached teeth and manicured nails.
As with any Bravo reality TV series worth its weight in pancake makeup, the plot in Courtney Loves Dallas is filled with emotional minidramas. There are friendship dramas, outfit dramas and love dramas—in the first episode, we're introduced to the man that "broke" Kerr's heart, former NFL player Matt Nordgren. If his name rings a bell, that's perhaps because he was briefly linked to one Lindsay Lohan. A preview of the series is above; catch it Thursday nights at 10am ET on Bravo.
