The '80s are back at Altuzarra. "In the past, we've had these really fantastical journeys," designer Joseph Altuzarra told Vogue of his Fall 2013 collection. "This season, the idea was going back to the street—to a purity of line. If you take away print and embroidery, you have to challenge yourself a bit more on the cut."
He's not messing around. The collection was all about cut and proportion, from giant, Working Girl-era shoulders to oversized blazer buttons. Standout pieces included a boxy black-and-white fur coar that could have been borrowed from Cruella deVille, boxing-glove mittens, and a curve enhancing leather miracle dress that made the size-zero runway model look like Jessica Rabbit.
