Stacey Bendet's Fall 2013 collection for Alice + Olivia was a little more street than what we'd come to expect from the designer. But then, the collection was called Fantasy Street Style. It's the perfect moniker, since along with an edgy, free-spirited vibe, the collection maintained plenty of the sparkly femininity and whimsy that have become the line's trademarks. For every studded leather motorcycle jacket and plaid skirt, there was plenty of brocade and lace—sometimes all paired together.
The street vibe wasn't just in the clothing. The feel, like at all Alice + Olivia Fashion Week presentations, was more that of a hip party than a promotional event. Guests imbibed champagne and nibbled macarons while cute female DJs danced and spun tunes straight out of Clueless. And like at many interesting parties, the roles of those present began to overlap. Stylish guests—including Vanessa Hudgens, Nichole Galicia and Katharine McPhee, posed for photos as they walked the room, while some of the of the presentation's models actually chatted with one another while posing.
