3.1 Phillip Lim's biker chick is not Balmain's rough and tough woman. The collection's name, Sono Mama, meaning "as you are" in Japanese (apparently a moto-racer motto), and nods to a rider who's a patch collector, taking her time on the road, maybe making a stop to go antiquing. While she wears plenty of leather, she tones it down with folksy striped trousers, nerdy-chic sweatshirts, and the grunge plaids of Spring that are as artfully thrown together as his last collection.
