Lela Rose's 2013 Fall Collection Is Like A Fairy Tale For Grown-ups

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Lela Rose's 2013 fall collection was inspired by the Brothers Grimm fairy tales, which means that there was enough floral embroidery, silk organza, feathers, lace, inky prints, jacquard, and rhinestones to outfit an entire army of FLOTUSes. The palette was unexpected, but relevant—a whole lot of citrine, burnt sienna, inky blue, and forest green to emulate the colors of the deep woods. We half-expected enchanted woodland creatures to appear on the runway alongside the models. View the fantastical looks after the jump.
