Everybody should be used to seeing Michelle Obama's sculpted arms by now, considering they've been on display at every major political event over the past four years. But some Twitterers thought the First Lady looked inappropriate for a State of the Union address. Buzzfeed rounded up a few of the most colorful complaints about FLOTUS's outfit, including this one from @JEANNEinWa:

"Michelle vitrually only woman in a sleeveless dress. Someone needs to tell her how to dress for the SOTU."

Carol Joynt, Editor at Large for Washingtonian magazine, tweeted:

"Michelle Obama is in a stunning dress but appears ready for a cocktail party rather than a speech"

Most of the rest of the fashion world was too busy with New York Fashion Week to pay much attention to Michelle's outfit choice for once, but publications who have weighed in on the dress—a custom Jason Wu creation, modified from a look in his pre-fall line—disagree with the Twitter haters. The Cut called the look "striking" while HuffPo gushed that she looked "absolutely stunning."
