Joie's Fall Presentation Was Black and White and Red All Over

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Joie's fall 2013 presentation was staged like an opulent dinner party minus the food. Models lounged around a long wooden table under crystal chandeliers, looking wintry and chic in a tightly controlled color palette of black, white, and red. Houndstooth and other prints were allowed, but only in monochrome, and aside from one long black-and-white dress, the shapes were mainly crisp and form-fitting. Standouts included a black leather sheath dress with over-the-knee black boots, as well as a few pairs of slouchy drawstring pants that might be a little easier to wear to an meal.
