The aughts were a decade of stiletto-worship, leaving the humble sneaker decidedly out of fashion. But something happened at the turn of the decade. Perhaps women figured out that it can be cute to be comfy. And so did designers, who have in recent years reinvented the way we think of the beloved shoe. Isabel Marant introduced the world to the wedge sneaker back in 2010, sparking a craze that hasn't quite yet died down. Other designers are adapting the sporty staple, with Giuseppe Zanotti, Marc Jacobs, and Comme des Garcons are putting their stamp on the classic for spring.
