Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Apple is in the process of patenting technology that is "an advanced wearable computer in the form of a bracelet that could double as a watch." It gets better. The techy lingo that describes the watch ("bi-stable spring") basically means it would be styled like...a snap bracelet. We hope this becomes reality mostly so we can say,"You got an iWatch? Aw, snap!" and thus bring what we thought were two passing fads from our childhood back to the forefront of cultural relevance. [Refinery29]
