Ellen to Kate Upton: 'You Never Know, Next Year It Could Be Me'

New, 2 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Kate Upton recently nailed her second Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover, so she appeared on Ellen to chat about the trials and tribulations of staging a photoshoot in Antarctica. The supermodel talks strategy for shooting in subzero temperatures ("Think warm thoughts"), insecurities ("Does Sports Illustrated hate me?"), and penguin crossings ("It made you happy even though you were about to be naked in Antarctica"). Ellen even asks for the supermodel's advice on modeling, saying, "The reason I ask about the eyes, is—of course, being a fellow model—I always look for ways to improve because, you never know, next year it could be me." Stranger things have happened. Check out the interview after the jump. (Also, bonus fact! You'll find out what body part Kate is self-conscious of!)
