Betsey Johnson's Reincarnated Dress Line Is Barely Even Pink

New, 1 comment

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Betsey Johnson's "dress thing" is now available for pre-order on BetseyJohnson.com (orders will be shipped out by March 15) and will arrive in department stores like Macy's and Nordstrom later next month. The designer described the line as "Pretty and punk, sweet and sexy, always rock n' roll," which sounds like her usual fare, but this new line is almost a more wearable Betsey Johnson. Take a look at the gallery above and find that there's no glitter, the pink is actually peach, and peplums have replaced most of the giant tulle skirts of yore. Plus, it's all priced between $99 and $249. Maybe her daughter Lulu has reigned her in. Then again, maybe she hasn't.
