Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Finally, more details on that vague collaboration between Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and Kmart: First, it's a men's line called 222 by Adam Levine for Kmart, and it's slated to debut this Fall. Second, he has created a page on ShopYouWay.com so he can offer design preview, provide updates, and gather feedback and suggestions.
Right now his page is mostly populated by Tweets, including apologies for having laryngitis and expressing intense desire for "blueberry pancakes with tons of butter and maple syrup." There's also a couple videos that explain his love for denim and philosophies on clothes in general, and, eventually, there will be weekly contests with prizes including backstage passes and signed guitars. Looks like Levine isn't satisfied to just be a consumer, unlike some musicians we know saw that one time.
