Free People's Short Film Lets Girls' Christopher Abbott Be Loved

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Free People has enlisted the help of an increasingly familiar face, Girls star Christopher Abbott, to shoot a webseries and the coinciding catalogue for the retailer's Spring collections. The first go at the series is, as predicted, adorbs with Abbott and model Sheila Marquez playing roshambo (hipster for rock, paper, scissors) to make all of their choices. It's everything you'd want out of a Free People short film/commercial: magically fated love, hats, and lots and lots of softly lit city street scenes. Take a look after the jump.
