WHIT is known to send its girl on over-the-top trips around the world and beyond: for Spring 2013 it was a beachy St. Lucia and for Fall 2012 it was a cosmic outer space. This time around, the label travels back in time to the late '60s London, where a young Marianne Faithfull serves as muse. Fall 2013 is full of stripes, paisleys, and leopard spots all inspired by the ethereal musician and former gf of Mick Jagger.
In a moody palette of ruby, emerald, and navy, the polished separates run the gamut from a shearling shouldered pea coat to a metallic cocktail dress. "It's really about a very romantic girl being swept up in music, poetry, and art," designer Whitney Pozgay says. Besides Faithfull, she also owes the mature pieces in the collection to her recent marriage. "I'm feeling a little more grown up. I'm investing in pieces that are really special, that will grow with you, and you can have in all the different times in your life." Check out all the looks after the jump and then thank the origination of wedlock for this one.
