Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

A chandelier announced that Jason Wu is really taking his ladylike mainstays up a notch in the edgy department. Well, there was that bandage-type dress in the line-up and the sheer high necklines did have a subtle sort of sex appeal. Also, that feathery number that Cara Delevingne was sporting. But Michelle Obama's Jason Wu was still alive and well in the peplum dresses and trousers and the way the gown's train floated away from a closer-fitting-than-usual bodice. If the predominately black, white, silver, and red collection wasn't exactly "Extreme Femininity," it was certainly a sophisticated take on day-to-evening wear. We give it seven MObamas out of 10.
