Yesterday was the first official day of New York Fashion Week, and considering that we're in for a shit storm of a snow storm, it will probably be the last day people dare to wear open shoes. (Actually, given the fashion industry's fortitude, that's debatable.)
Perhaps in anticipation of the dreary weekend ahead, yesterday's dress code at Lincoln Center included bright coats—from royal blue to hot red orange—with even brighter layers underneath. Click through the gallery above for 23 of our favorite photos from the first day.
