For Dannijo's Fall 2013 presentation, Dynasty descended on The Jane, New York's most whimsical hotel (and taxidermic. What up giant ram?). The designers Jodie and Danielle Snyder were taking a page from the '80s soap opera with dramatic, jewel toned velvet dresses to emphasize the jewelry collection's title, "Vanities." Their works were rich and oversized much like their other inspiration, that necklace Elizabeth Taylor was wearing in her Helmut Lang portrait. You know, the one with the parrot. According to Danielle, the line is a "subtle commentary on the way things used to be" with "lady-like, bold estate jewelry" as well as "the way things have come to be" with "the advent of the instagram 'selfie.'" So that's why there are mirrors in all the necklaces, collars, and cuffs. A New York Times profile well earned, ladies.
