Yigal Azrouël Shows Fur Snoods During a Blizzard

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Yigal Azrouël's show was a welcome sanctuary from the beginnings of the blizzard (or storm of the century, whatever you want to call it). Who knew there would be so much enviable blizzard-ready gear in the collection?

Once the Russians got there—Miroslava, we saw you and your adorable pink beanie arriving twenty minutes late—the show began. The models walked an illuminated square on the cobblestone ground of the Highline Stages. Pumps and booties in python and pony were standouts but caused a lot of shaky ankles on the uneven terrain. Duffel coats and furs were covetable pieces, but the award for "take it off the runway and onto the streets right this instant" goes to the fur snoods, shown with everything from evening dresses to jumpsuits.
